Hi. I’m Tresta.

Welcome to my blog. I think my thoughts here and they are generally full of wonder at God’s goodness, truth, and beauty. I hope you find something to think about.

Feeding a son

Feeding a son

Last night there were only three of us for dinner. A month ago there were six at our table on a regular evening and I can’t even explain how, even though I knew this was coming, the dinner hour has spotlighted the changes in our life.

Food has always been the center of our home, but not because I’m a phenomenal cook or hostess. One commitment “they” don’t really tell you about when you think about homeschooling is the fact that you will continue to host at least three meals a day for all these people, and even when the kids can cook for themselves…it’s still a lot of people eating and messing about in your kitchen (living room, bedrooms, etc.).

I am writing quarterly this year for The Joyful Life blog and my latest essay is a walk backwards through a typical day in our home, feeding a teenage son and generally biting my tongue. I don’t know if it will encourage you or humor you or make you question our family, but life is changing so fast and I am thankful I’ve written down some of the days. I will look back and have a record of the good old days, as I’m living the good new ones.

You can read my latest essay here.
